Melody Maker models were introduced in the late 1950s to break into the budget-friendly section of the catalog dominated by Fender`s Telecaster, Strat and other models. Les Paul Melody maker, however quickly gained popularity and became a classic. Today, Gibson USA revives this concept with a new Melody maker Special. This one comes with a solid, flat body made of mahogany. Much like the Junior models, Melody maker LPs feature plastic pickguard as the only body decoration. TV Yellow, Satin Ebony, Satin Cherry and Blue Stain are the color options available for this model. Bridge section is a simple one, it features a stopbar. In it`s front, Gibson installs a pair of P-90 single coil pickups. Set mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
