Les Paul Supreme is a model made for 2013 and it comes as the flagship Les Paul in USA division. 2013 will be the year of Les Paul and catalog of Les Paul and SG guitars is getting a complete makeover. Existing models are refreshed and updated with new color options and hardware appointments and several completely new models are being introduced. Les Paul Supreme 2013 is one of them. It kicks off with a single cut body made of flamed maple top and back. Back side is equipped with strategically placed weight relief chambers and Mahogany core. Flamed maple top is carved and bound in seven layers of elegant white binding. Back is also bound in white. There is no pickguard, it was omitted in favor of the gorgeous flame grain of the maple. Bridge section is a classic one and it features a combo from Tonepros. Tune-o-matic bridge is placed in the front, while the stoptail bar is in the back. Like the rest of the hardware, they are plated in gold. Pickups on this model are Gibson`s famous 490R in the neck position and 498T in the bridge. 498T is overwound and features slightly mismatched magnets for that scorching tone. These pickups are controlled through a classic electronics unit with separate volume and tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is also a traditional feature, it`s made of mahogany, it`s set-in and equipped with a rounded contour on the back side. On it`s top Gibson installs a black richlite fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. Also, it has mother-of-pearl split block inlays, 12" radius and 1.695" wide string nut. Keysteone Grover tuners on the beautifully decorated headstock have 14:1 ratio. Desert Burst and Heritage Cherry Sunburst are color options available for this model. The MSRP for both color options is set at $5,099.
