Gibson Les Paul L6S

Les Paul Electric Guitars by Gibson

Les Paul L6S by Gibson
Antique Natural

Les Paul L6S is a special model in the LP segment. It completely ditches mahogany from the specs list. This one comes with an all-maple body. Top is flat and the contour of the body is a bit fatter than on the regular LPs. Antique Natural is the only color scheme available for this model and it is finished in nitrocellulose gloss. Neck is also made of maple. It is set in and equipped with the classic slim taper contour in the back. On it`s top, there`s a maple fingerboard. Both ebony and rosewood were pushed aside in order to complete this all-maple Les Paul. Pair of vintage-styled active humbuckers is featured on this model. They feature a 6-way rotary switch in the controls unit.

This is a new version of the first guitar I ever owned. Mine was a different color, but otherwise identical. It had more tonal variation than any other guitar at the time, and probably more than any non-computerized guitar today. I was a twenty year old and needed money, so I sold it, and I regret it to this day.

This guitar was discontinued by Gibson after a less than stellar run in the late 1970s. I bought mine in 1976 and have loved it ever since. The neck is a dream, easy to play. Controls at the right place. I love my L6S. Never need a Tele, a Strat, or a Les Paul. Love this! And--Gibson JUST REISSUED IT. Get one now!

I had a custom version of this guitar. great guitar. it had for tone controls and a preamp(?) switch. maybe off/on switch. Plus the strings came up through the body.
