Les Paul 50s Tribute is a vintage-styled guitar with minimalistic design and maximum quality. It comes with a stripped down body and vintage-oriented tone matching the style and sound of the '50 Les Paul guitars. This LP kicks off with a classic and proven combination of chambered mahogany back and carved maple top. Mahogany back is the foundation and gives loads of strength, while the maple top adds clarity and snap to the tone. Tone this combination produces can not be matched by any other single-wood guitar. For the sake of affordability, pickguard and top binding are scratched off the list of specs. Wine Red, Gold Top, Ebony and Vintage Sunburst are color options available for this model and they all come finished in satin. Bridge section is also a classic one, as it features tune-o-matic bridge with stoptail bar in the back. These are made by Tonepros and represent one of the best possible solutions for the top-load bridges. In combination with Grover tuners, this bridge keeps tuning and intonation with astonishing precision. In front of it Gibson installs a pair of active P-90 single coil pickups. These two are controlled through separate volume and tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Simple, effective and classic. Les Paul '50s Tribute comes with a mahogany-made neck with rounded '50s contour. Substantial, yet comfortable and fast are the right words to describe the contour on this neck. On top of the neck Gibson installs a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets, acrylic trapezoid inlays, 12" radius and 1-11/16" corian nut. For 2013 majority of the baked maple fingerboards are replaced with rosewood and granadillo counterparts with same appointments and measures. The MSRP for this beauty is set at $1,599.
