Late Gary Moore was a big fan of Gibson Guitars, which he played throughout his career. With immeasurable contributions to modern blues, rock and even heavy metal, Gary has got his name written with platinum letters in the book of electric guitar. Throughout the career which spanned over four decades, Gary has recorded and performed some of the defining tunes, riffs and solos. Gary played many other guitars besides his favorite Les Pauls, but he would always come back to Gibson`s axes. For 2013, Gibson USA proudly presents the Gary Moore Les Paul Standard model. It is a chambered single-cut with Lemon Burst paint job. Mahogany body of this Standard Les Paul is strategically chambered to ease the load on player`s shoulders and to improve the tone. Carved top is made of two pieces of bookmatched maple and it features the characteristic carve. There is no binding around the edges of the top. Splendid gloss finish and nickel-plated hardware decorate the body. Bridge section is equipped with a standard two-piece set, containing tune-o-matic bridge in the front and a stoptail bar in the back. Burstbucker Pro humbuckers have been selected for this Gary Moore tribute model for their supremely smooth and powerful tone. Neck pickup`s reversed wiring is a nod to Peter Green`s '59 Les Paul, which Gary Moore played extensively throughout his career. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch comprise the controls unit. Bridge controls have goldtop hats, while the neck controls have amber hats. Neck is made of mahogany and it features '50s contour in the back. On it`s top, Gibson USA installs a standard 22-fret granadillo fingerboard. Vintage-styled headstock i equipped with a set of six TonePros Kluson tuners installed in 3+3 pattern.
