Firebird is, along the legendary SG, the most important Gibson model introduced back in 1960s and is still one of the pillars of the USA brand. 2017 lineup features two models in the "T" range and two in "HP". Additionally, there`s one Firebird-based model in the brand new S series (Epiphone-level entry series). Firebird 2017 HP starts off with classic Firebird construction - mahogany wings glued onto the through-body neck. This time the neck is made of mahogany and walnut, instead of only mahogany (traditional Firebird feature). 22-fret rosewood fingerboard (one-piece, 1.745" nut) tops the neck. Pelham Blue and Vintage Sunburst are the only color options (both cost $1,899). Major hardware and electronics features include an aluminum bridge (w/titanium saddles), G-Force tuners, zero-fret nut and a pair of hot 495 minibuckers.
