ES-339 Satin is a new model for 2015 - it is one of 25+ models unveiled at Gibson`s booth at the NAMM show. This is the standard 339, but with satin finish and a bit different color palette (the palette is made up of super elegant Ebony and seductive Wine Red). Compact and stylish 339 body of this sleek six-shooter is made of laminated woods - of two plies of maple with a single layer of poplar sandwiched in between. Back, sides and the carved top are made of this combination which gives a bright, singing quality to the tone. Both the cared top and the back are bound in stylish creme binding, and both feature the cool satin finish (sides and the neck, too). AVR-2 bridge and the locking tailpiece form the bridge unit installed on the top. The pickup section in the front is assigned with a pair of mighty Burstbuckers known from the Gibson USA LPs and SGs. Burstbucker 2 is in the bridge and Burstbucker 1 in the neck position. Traditional controls unit is featured along with them, but with a significant modification - tone pots have less treble cut than the previous capacitors, which results in a richer tone. Mahogany neck is fit with a traditional C profile in the back and a genuine rosewood fingerboard on top (the most affordable Gibson Memphis model with a genuine rosewood fingerboard). Within the neck, Gibson installs the historic 1960s truss rod for improved neck stability. Grover`s Milk Bottle Rotomatic tuners are featured on the headstock.
