Angus Young SG is revamped for 2013 with new appointments and ready to take on the world. It is a part of the general makeover of the Les Paul and SG lines for 2013, the year of Les Paul. Several new models have been introduced, along with some tribute models and already existing ones have been updated with new features. Simple and deadly effective, this model is made by Angus Young`s specifications and is the closest one can get to his legendary tone. This model features a solid, double cut body made of mahogany. Concept of the SG as a thin all-mahogany guitar has remained unchanged for five decades now and this model is no exception. Edges of the body are traditionally beveled and Gibson installs a small pickguard painted same as the body. Bridge section on this model is the same as on almost every SG and LP made to this day, it contains tune-o-matic bridge in the front with stoptail bar in the back. Bridge section is plated in chrome. Pickups installed on this model are active humbuckers and represent the key ingredient to achieving the legendary tone of Angus Young. His own signature pickup is in the bridge position, while the stock Classic '57 humbucker is in the neck position. These two are controlled through separate volume and tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Since it`s introduction in 1961 SG had super fast neck, a feature that remained unchanged to this very day. Sleek and comfortable contour, set-in joint and rosewood fingerboard are featured on this neck. 22 medium jumbo frets, lightning bolt inlays, 12" radius and 1.55" wide corian nut complete the fingerboard. Vintage-styled tuning machines are plated in nickel for this signature model. The MSRP is set at $3,617.
