2016 ES-Les Paul represents a successful marriage of two pretty different, but equally popular concepts - Les Paul and ES. Primarily, it is made for players of Les Paul who want an ES but are not keen on leaving their LPs behind, and vice versa. The end result is a beautiful LP-shaped guitar with ES construction. It costs $3,349, some $500 more than a solid-bodied LP Standard with traditional specs. ES-Les Paul`s body is semi-hollow, with thinline depth and carved top. Back, sides and top are all made of three-ply maple/poplar/maple panels. The neck is made of a single piece of mahogany; it is attached at the 16th fret (classic LP feature) and equipped with a rounded C profile (ES feature). Rosewood fingerboard on its top has 22 frets with trapezoid inlays, 1-11/16" bone nut and 12" radius. Pair of HMS humbuckers with a standard controls unit provides a wide range of tones, and is perfectly able to pull off everything and anything, from soft blues and jazz to high voltage hard rock. Set of vintage Kluson green key tuners and two-piece top-load bridge complete the specs list.
