Studio is unofficially considered the true start of the LP range. It was introduced back in the 1980s with the intention of giving all players an equal shot at true LP tone. Everyone, including the ones on a strict budget have ever since been able to afford the genuine Gibson Les Paul experience. 2015 Les Paul Studio is a beautiful guitar with simple design and very modern construction, incorporating many of the improvements and changes introduced for 2015. Solid moderately dense mahogany body is fit with the modern weight relief system and covered with a B class flamed maple top. Manhattan Midnight, Wine Red and Desert burst form the color palette of the 2015 Studio. Two-piece bridge unit is plated in nickel and fronted with a pair of `57s. `57 Classic is in the neck (Gibson`s rhythm position) and `57 Plus in the bridge (treble position). Standard controls unit is enriched with a pair of push/pull switches on the volume knobs. Set in mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Fingerboards have receive several important updates: nuts are now made of brass and can be used to adjust the action of the strings, nut width has increased to 1.795", also fingerboards are thicker than before. 12" radius remains unchanged on affordable models. G Force tuners are featured on the headstock. The MSRP is set at $1,229.
