As a seasoned veteran of the jazz scene and one of the biggest connoisseurs of the fingerboard language, Johnny A. was more than a logical choice for 2015 additions to the Gibson Custom signature artist lineup. In over four decades of active and more than successful career, Johnny A. has played with the cream of blues, jazz and rock scenes, and has been a member of several quintessential bands. His Johnny A. Standard w/Bigsby is, quite probably, one of the best guitars of 2015. It comes with a completely hollow double-cut body based on the classic LP design. The upper bout was transformed into a cutaway, and the body interior was made completely hollow (it`s made of mahogany back and sides, and maple top). Some of the LP Standard features kept on this model are: thick creme binding, white plastic pickguard (though its shaped is slightly modified to correspond with the holes on the top) and the standard configuration of the controls unit. Pickups installed on this gorgeous six-string are the famous `57 Classics with nickel-plated covers and creme-colored rings. Bridge unit is fit with the classic tune-o-matic/Bigsby combo with a traditional anchored trapezoid tailpiece. Mahogany neck rocks the custom Johnny A. profile in the back and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. Vintage-styled tuning machines on a vintage headstock complete the specs list. The MSRP for this goldtop is set at $4,999.
