Johnny A Signature is one of the only two models in the current Gibson Custom lineup which don`t belong to the Les Paul range. LP`s overwhelming popularity among both the fans of modern and vintage-oriented music genres pushes it so far ahead. Nevertheless, Gibson`s semi and fully hollow guitars also have their own fans around the world. For 2014, Johnny A`s signature model is being revamped in full glory. It comes with a double-cut body made of mahogany base and a two-piece flamed maple top. This combo is used on pretty much every upscale solid and semi-acoustic Gibson which, with the addition of the active Gibson electronics, gives the classic Gibson tone. Sunset Glow with nitrocellulose lacquer, creme binding and satin gold hardware is the only color scheme available for this model. On the top, classic tune-o-matic bridge is accompanied by a Bigsby tremolo tailpiece, instead of the classic stoptail bar. `57 Classic humbuckers with golden covers are fit into both the bridge and neck slots and are accompanied by a classic Gibson controls unit (two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch). Mahogany neck rocks the vintage-styled contour in the back and is topped with a bound richlite fingerboard (a bit unusual fingerboard material for Gibson) with 22 frets and 1-11/16" wide corian nut. The MSRP for the new Johnny A Signature is set at $6,299.
