Despite the fact that the Les Paul had a big decline in popularity during the 1960s, some of the early models from this decade managed to get into the best LP models ever list. Such is the case with the classic 1960 Les Paul Standard, the last model to feature the classic LP Burst color scheme. After it was discontinued, burst colors were also scraped from the specs lists, reappearing years later. In 2015, Gibson Custom pays homage to the last of the original Bursts through the gorgeous CS0 60s Style Les Paul Standard VOS, under the slogan "The Legacy Lives On". The foundation of the new CS0 is made of a one-piece mahogany base without a weight relief. Upon the mahogany base, there is a two-piece flamed maple cap made of two pieces of bookmatched wood. Back and sides rock the natural color, while the bound top can be obtained in six different color options: Washed Cherry, Faded Tobacco, Ice Tea, Lemon Burst, Sunrise Tea Burst and Bourbon Burst (the choice of colors is the same as on the CS8 and CS9 models). Pair of Custom Bucker pickups brings the tone of the original PAFs in its full glory, and its bound to rock the socks off even the most hard core skeptics. Of course, the classic LP controls unit is installed with them. Mahogany neck is a one-piece, and it features the classic 1960s profile in the back. A 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with creme binding and trapezoid inlays sits on the top. The MSRP is set at $6,199.
