Fernandes Vortex Elite JP Review

New and refreshed for 2012 season, Fernandes Vortex Series comes with a JP version of the already well known Vortex Elite. Though based on Elite, the Elite JP is a beast in it`s own right with it`s own set of weapons which include Gotoh tuners, Sustainer pickup and titanium truss rod. To start off, the classic Vortex V shape is slightly retouched with beveled edges. To keep things simple and down to business, Fernandes opted against flame and quilt tops for this model. It is made of mahogany and features no binding. The top is flat and there are no pickguards on this axe. The bridge is a Floyd Rose locking tremolo unit combined with a locking nut. The pickups on this model are EMG81 active humbucker in the bridge position and the glorious Fernandes Sustainer pickup in the neck position. Standard volume and tone knobs are accompanied by a three-way toggle switch and a Sustainer on/off switch. The neck on this model features a neck-through construction and is equipped with an ebony fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets, diamond position markers and 14" radius. This model also has Gotoh made tuning machines, black hardware and titanium reinforced truss rods. Currently, the Elite JP is available in a glossy red color. Fernandes Vortex Elite JP is truly a no-nonsense and down to business metal axe with a very attractive shape and top notch features.
