Spalted
Monterey Spalted is a part of the Spalted family of models, which appears in various series throughout the Fernandes Guitars catalog. These models are always offered in the natural color of the spalted maple, which ranks among the most beautiful decorative tonewoods. Monterey Spalted`s top is carved and bound in natural binding. It is finished in satin. As opposed to the maple top, Fernandes makes the back of the body of mahogany. Back is solid and together with the maple top forms a very good platform for high performance pickups. Fernandes installs EMG`s 81 active humbucker in the bridge position and 60 in the neck position. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and features the set in neck joint. It is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
