Monterey Series has also got an Elite JP model for 2012. As one of the main pillars of Fernandes catalog, Monterey line of models has more than deserved this upgrade. As all of the Elite JP guitars, Monterey Elite JP brings the top notch materials, looks and tone. It starts off as a solid, single cutaway model with a body made of mahogany back and quilted maple top. The top is carved and bound in creme. There are no pickguards for this Elite JP guitar. Color options include black, snow white and honey burst, all three with gloss finish. The bridge compartment consists of Gotoh tune-o-matic bridge and a stoptail bar. They are both plated in chrome. The picku combo is made up of Seymour Duncan SH-4JB passive humbucker in the bridge and a Fernandes Sustainer in the neck position. Controls are more complex than on the other Monterey models and enlist a master volume, master tone, three-way toggle switch, Sustainer on/off mini switch and Sustainer mode switch. The neck is, as it is standard for upscale Fernandes models, made of mahogany and attached to the body with a set-in joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and features 24 jumbo frets, dot pearl split trapezoid inlays and a 14" radius. Gotoh Magnum locking tuners, 24-3/4" scale and chrome plated hardware complete the spec.
