The new Player series is Fender`s latest attempt at the middle class and, judging by the early reception, it will be among the biggest things Fender`s done this decade. The 22nd fret is now a standard on all six-string models, a welcome and long-overdue update. Player series pickups (on four and six-stringers), updated design, and high-quality hardware are hallmarks of the new range. Player Stratocaster HSS Plus Top is there for the player who prefers the elegance of a transparent finish over a traditional solid-color finish. Main features include a solid alder body, two-piece figured top, C-shaped maple neck, 22-fret fingerboard (either pau ferro or maple, depending on the color option), Player Series pickups (HSS arrangement), modern string-thru tremolo bridge, and die-cast tuners.
