Fender Pawn Shop Offset Special Review

Fender`s Pawn Shop series operates in another time and space, as their lineup is gathered from unique models which blend vintage and modern features in a way never seen before. Models from this line, though sporting vintage looks, bring very modern sound, and are oriented towards the contemporary rock and alternative rock music. Pickups and electronics are adjusted to benefit the players who desire to play modern music. This series models are inspired by some of the mid '60s to mid '70s models, but these particular Pawn Shop models never existed before. The unofficial motto of the series is "Guitars that never were, but should have been". Offset Special is a model with semi-hollow body construction. It comes with a Strat-like shaped double cutaway body which is made of alder. The top on this model is flat and features no bindings. On the bass side of the bridge an unbound "f" hole is installed. In the bridge section, Fender installs their own vintage combo which is made up of adjust-o-matic bridge and floating vintage tremolo tailpiece. Both are plated in chrome. In the pickups area, a pair of humbuckers is installed. They come with master volume and master tone knobs accompanied by a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck on this model is made of maple and it features a '60s C contour. This neck is topped with a maple fingerboard on all three of color options which Fender has made available for this model. Fingerboard features 21 medium jumbo-sized frets with black dot position inlays. Also, it features a standard 9.50 radius and 1.65" wide synthetic bone string nut. Headstock sports Stratocaster shape and six in-line tuners with chrome plating. Other features include: 25-1/2" scale, unique offset waist shape and aged plastic control knobs. This model is available in three color options: 2-color sunburst, Black and Shell Pink. All are finished in gloss and have a common MSRP. It is set at $1,079.
