American Special series was one of many series which featured 60th anniversary Stratocasters back in 2014. Now, in 2015, it is the only series to reprise the 2014 anniversary models. One regular SSS and this HSS reprise the popular 60 year models. Limited Edition American Special Stratocaster HSS comes with a solid and flat alder body and bolted maple neck as its base (the usual and very familiar combination). Opposed to the all-black theme selected for the SSS variant, the HSS model comes in a stylish white/black outfit. The body is painted in Fender`s classic Olympic White and fit with a black pickguard, black pots, black pickup covers and black tremolo arm cap. Body is finished in urethane gloss, while the back of the neck features the satin urethane finish. Tremolo bridge with string-through construction is installed behind the iconic pickguard. Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker was chosen for the bridge position mainly due to to its lower output and marvelous chiming tone. Fender`s Texas Special Single Coil is in the middle, while the Tex-Mex Single Coil in the neck rounds off the pickups combo for this limited edition six-shooter. Along with the traditional controls set, this gorgeous Strat features the Greasebucket tone circle. Neck features the standard C profile in the back and a rosewood fingerboard (22 jumbo frets, dot inlays, 1.685" nut) on top. Large `70s-styled headstock is fit with a set of six sealed tuning machines.
