10 for `15 is a line of very expensive and luxurious limited edition guitars made to display Telecasters and Stratocasters which would have been more than cool, but never existed as standard catalog models. Out of ten models planned, Limited Edition American Deluxe Mahogany Stratocaster HSS is seventh. Like its brethren, this magnificent Strat features some non-standard and rarely seen appointments. For starters, this Limited Edition Stratocaster trades in the traditional alder for a mahogany body. Slightly heavier (it is also slightly thinner than the standard alder body in use today) and warmer, mahogany body gives a big, thick tone with an almost endless sustain. It is quite warmer and more growling in the low register leaning more towards the classic Gibson style, especially with the bridge humbucker turned on. Mahogany Stain with glossy polyester finish is the only color option available for this exclusive Stratocaster. Chrome plated hardware, zebra-coiled pickups and aged white plastics complete the classy vintage theme. Neck is taken over from the standard American Deluxe series Stratocasters, it`s made of maple and features the modern C profile in the back. Standard bolt-on joint with a custom Limited Edition neck plate and contoured heel make it one of the most comfortable and easily played necks available today. On its top, Fender installs the standard 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. 22 medium jumbo frets (6105) with dot inlays, 1.685" synthetic bone nut and compound 9.5"-14" radius complete the fingerboard. The compound radius was only recently incorporated into the upscale Fender series and has already become a standard feature. Electronics unit is equipped with exclusive pickups and a classic Stratocaster controls setup. The new Shawbucker pickup with zebra coils (black on the out and white on the inside) and a pair of Noiseless N-3 single-coils comprise the pickups combo. Master volume, two tone controls (one for the neck and one for the bridge and middle), five-position blade switch and S-1 switch make up the controls. This gives a strong, vintage tone with a huge range of tonal varieties. It is perfect for versatile players who like to incorporate different styles and influences into their music. Fender`s 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge with modern construction and vintage stamped steel saddles is paired with a set of six locking tuners to guarantee the perfect tuning and intonation stability.
