Back in 1950s solid bodied electric guitars were taking the world by storm and establishing a new standard for the sound. Fender led the way with their iconic Stratocaster, Telecaster and Precision Bass models. Today, Fender`s Custom Shop celebrates one particular model, 1959 Telecaster. In it`s honor they made Limited Edition 1959 Heavy Relic Telecaster. This model comes with a classic single cutaway body with flat top and bolt-on neck joint. Celadon Green color is finished in nitrocellulose gloss and complemented with aged nickel/chrome hardware. Since it is a heavy relic model, it shows a lot of skin. This model is aged and worn to appear as if it came out of the factory in the late `1950s, but it sounds and plays fresh as if it is still 1959. Body is made of hand selected alder and covered with a classic plastic Tele pickguard. Bridge section features a vintage-styled "tray" bridge with three saddles instead of six. Pickups are: slanted Nocaster single coil pickup in the bridge and Twisted Tele single in the neck position. Master volume, master tone and three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Maple neck is equipped with 1957 soft V contour in the back and topped with a maple fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets. The MSRP for Limited Edition 1959 Heavy Relic Telecaster is set at $6,500.00.
