Classic Player Series is a line of electric guitars which combines the vintage styling with modern features and construction solutions. It is made for players who like their guitars to look like they are made in '50s and '60s, but to have the ability to sonically compete with modern guitars. Currently, nine models comprise the series, with Jazzmaster Special being one of the basic models of the line. Classic Jazzmaster Special kicks off with a solid, double cutaway body made of alder. The top of this guitar is flat and features no binding. Bridge section on this Jazzmaster includes adjust-o-matic bridge and floating tremolo tailpiece. Both are plated in chrome. In the pickups area Jazzmaster Special features a pair of single coil pickups. Both are powerful and versatile P-90 styled pickups. They are controlled through master volume and tone in the main circuit. Residual circuits are "lead" and "rhythm" circuits with volume and tone controls. Pickup switch is a three-way toggle. Neck is made of maple and it sports a Fender standard C contour. Also, it is bolted to the body. Fingerboard on this model is made of rosewood and it comes with 21 medium jumbo frets, standard dot position inlays, 9.5" radius and 1.65" wide synthetic bone nut. Other features on this model include: 25-1/2" scale, polyester gloss finish and tortoise shell pickguard. The MSRP for this model is set at $1,099.
