Fender`s American Special series of models is assigned the task of offering all of the essentials from the more expensive series in a more budget friendly package. The American Special Mahogany Stratocaster HSS brings a solid mahogany body with a flat top and legendary shape. The bridge option for this model comes in the shape of the vintage styled synchronized tremolo with the chrome plating. Pickup department is made up of three pickups, the Atomic Humbucking pickup in the bridge, Texas Special single coil pickup in the middle and also a Texas Special single coil pickup in the neck position. C-shaped maple neck is bolted and features a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, dot inlays, 1.6875" wide synthetic bone nut and 9.5" radius. It is available in crimson transparent red and costs around $850.

i just cant stand the single coil hum. I would rather have a noiseless pickup config. like the deluxe

Guitar has great features and first class components - replaced trem block with Schaller steel - even better. Pups could use change depending on style.

Finish Awesome - fret work and neck as good as I have seen.

Price keeps going up for both new and resale - thee is a reason. Not many mahogany Strats with these features, finish and tone.

Great tone, easy to play, full features, looks awesome, fair price - what's not to like!
