American Standard Series is being updated for 2012. Complete overhaul of the line has been announced several times since 2008, and now, for 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse Fender brings completely upgraded and improved American Standard Series. It`s Iconic models, Stratocaster, Telecaster, Precision Bass and Jazz Bass have all received 2012 treatment. It includes custom shop pickups on all models and aged plastic parts, as well as other cosmetic touches. 2012 American Standard Stratocaster comes with a classic Strat double cutaway shaped body made of alder. Standard contours and measures are kept. White plastic pickguard dominates the top of the body and serves as a cover plate for electronics. There are no bindings or top woods. The bridge is a Fender-made tremolo with string-through construction, six adjustable saddles and chrome plating. In the pickups area, there are three Fender Custom Shop Fat `50s Strat pickups. Bridge pickup remains slanted. They are controlled through a standard layout of master volume and two tone controls. Pickup switch is a standard five-position blade. Neck on this Strat is made of maple and equipped with a modern C contour. Neck joint is a standard four-bolt bolt-on. There is a choice between maple and rosewood fingerboard. Either way, fingerboard appointments include 22 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays and 1.685" wide synthetic bone nut. This Strat, along with other retouched American Standard models was unveiled at 2012 Frankfurt Musikmesse. Other features include 25-1/2" scale, chrome hardware and aged plastic parts. The MSRP is set between $1,529 and $1,699.
