ESP is one of the most popular and most appreciated brands of electric basses and guitars. Their catalog is, in it`s entirety, dedicated to the players and fans of heavy music, covering all tiers from beginner to professional. ESP Standard and signature ranges cover the professional class, while the various series and models of the LTD catalog take care of upper intermediate (semi-pro), intermediate, lower intermediate and beginner classes. LTD`s Viper-400 is a solid and double-cut guitar from the Viper series. This classic SG-like double-cut is one of the finest examples of the intermediate LTD range. Solid and double-cut mahogany body is paired with a standard U-shaped maple neck. EMG 81 and 60 make sure this beast never runs out of strength. 24-fret rosewood fingerboard completes the specs list.

Great guitar, not only because of the price but because of the active pickups, 81 & 85, set neck, jumbo frets (24), fantastic finish, quick neck, and professional nut. If you want a guitar without a trem, this is the one to get. Awesome. I haven't touched the ESP viper model, but the LTD model is just awesome. The quality is awesome. It came set up to play. No dings. I would totally use it live. The new model is the 401, but so far I haven't found the different between the two. If it was lost or stolen I would buy another one in a second. Totally happy. It was a bit neck heavy, but with the right strap and with the extra 9v battery for the 18v mod, it is just right now. This guitar screams, but you can get awesome clean tones from it, and bending the strings is a joy.
