LTD`s brand new MH-1001FR sets new standards for the LTD Deluxe range both in terms of looks and performance. Not just the MH-1001FR but the LTD 1000 and 1001 novelties as a whole are taking on a more serious approach, looking and sounding a lot closer to the ESP models than their lower ranked LTD siblings. MH-1001FR comes with a solid and double-cut body with a carved top and super deep cutaway. Back is made of mahogany (standard for the new MH-1000 and 1001 models), while the top is made of two pieces of quilted maple (matched pieces, of course). Floyd Rose bridge clad in shiny black chrome sits on the top. In front of it, ESP installs a pair of mighty EMG humbuckers. Bridge position is fit with the cult 81, and the neck position features an 85 pickup (the most common and frequent neck counterpart for the 81). Master volume, master tone and a three-position switch comprise the simple controls unit. Maple neck is set thru the body (this type of joint is deeper than the classic set-in, but does not run through the entire body) and has a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top. Grover tuners are arranged in a single line on the classic pointy ESP headstock.
