M series is one of the pillars of the LTD catalog. It`s been around for years and is still going strong. Sophisticated and minimalistic LTD M-1000 Koa is one of the models ESP introduced at 2015 Summer NAMM in Memphis Tennessee. LTD M-1000 Koa comes with a solid and double-cut body characteristic for the cult M series. It is made of mahogany wings with a five-piece maple/bubinga neck running through the center. On the top, there is a contoured bubinga cap. Mahogany, maple, bubinga koa and ebony (fingerboard) give a unique result in terms of tone. While the warmth and sheer power of mahogany still dominate the scene, ebony, maple, bubinga and koa provide a good level of clarity and definition. Pickups for this model are provided by DiMarzio. ST-1 Custom humbuckers are found in both the bridge and neck positions. They`re passive and feature a simple controls unit (master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch). Bridge section is equipped with a genuine six-saddled Floyd Rose bridge. Grover tuners on the headstock wrap things up for this simple and deadly metal machine.
