Horizon Series are known for their active humbuckers, 24 extra jumbo frets and neck-through constructions, but for 2012 Horizon FR-II with passive Duncan pickups received some very attractive color options with the intention to extend the reach of the series to players who prefer passive electronics on their shredding machines. For starters, Horizon FR-II w/Duncans comes as a solid, double cutaway model with a body made of alder back and quilted maple top. This carved top features white binding and gloss finished selection of five color options. Black aqua, dark brown sunburst, see thru black, reindeer blue and see thru black cherry are options assigned to this Horizon. The bridge section contains an original Floyd Rose double locking bridge with black nickel plating. Seymour Duncan JB passive humbucker replaces EMG81 and Duncan '59 comes instead of EMG85. They are controlled and manipulated through a setup of master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch. The neck is made of maple and it features a thin U contour and neck-through-body construction. The ebony fingerboard is equipped with 24 extra jumbo sized frets, offset rectangle position inlays and 1.65" wide locking string nut.
