Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top by Epiphone
Cherry

As one of the most important and influential representatives of Japanese rock scene, Tak Matsumoto has made a bridge between east and west with his music and helped prove that the rock music is a universal language. Epiphone Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top is a signature model built precisely by his spec. To start off, the body of this model has an asymmetrical double cutaway Les Paul body made of solid mahogany back and flame maple top. This guitar is available in the cherry color option with a plyurethane gloss finish and black binding around the top. DC Standard Plus Top features no pickguards to enable the better resonance as well as to accentuate the body`s beauty. The bridge is made of nickel plated Locktone tune-o-matic with a stoptail bar combo. A traditional Gibson and Epiphone feature which accompanies Les Paul models for six decades now. The pickup department is equipped with two zebra-coil Burstbuckers. USA Burstbucker 2 with Alnico II magnets is positioned at the neck and USA Burstbucker 3 with Alnico II magnets at the bridge. These pickups are among the closest replicas of the legendary PAF humbuckers from the late 1950s. They are controlled through Tak`s own setup of separate volume controls and a master tone knob. These are accompanied by a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck on this model is made of mahogany, a traditional choice for Les Paul models throughout the history. The contour of the neck is a rounded slim taper D shape from the early 1960s, it is very close to the shapes of necks of the original Kalamazoo made models. The fingerboard on this model is made of rosewood and bound in black color. The fingerboard features 22 jumbo frets, abalone trapezoid inlays, 1.68" wide PVC nut and 14" radius. Other features on this model include: nickel plated hardware, standard 24-3/4" scale, vintage styled tuning machines with tulip butons and 14:1 gear ratio, three-tuners-a-side dovewing headstock and polyurethane paint sealer. The MSRP for Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top is set at $1,525.
