Despite the popularity Les Paul enjoys these days, SG is the best-selling guitar in Gibson`s history. Also, it has the longest uninterrupted tenure of all Gibsons. The Epiphone side of the SG range takes care of the affordable SGs and aims at casual players and working musicians. SG-Special VE is one of many SG models available through Epiphone. It offers a solid and beveled poplar body w/mahogany veneer, set-in neck joint, open-coil humbucking pickups w/reduced controls unit, and stock hardware. The color palette includes Vintage Worn Cherry, Vintage Worn Cherry Sunburst, Vintage Worn Ebony, Vintage Worn Tobacco Sunburst, and Vintage Worn Walnut options. Other notable features include a solid okume neck, 22-fret fingerboard (of unknown origin), a two-piece hardtail bridge unit, and vintage-style tuners.
