1961 was the year when the first SG ever was introduced to the market. From then on, SG is continuously in production and is now one of the pillars of Gibson and Epiphone catalogs. 1961 SG from Epiphone comes with a classic SG-contoured body made of mahogany. It`s double-cut and thin, just as the original was. Cherry, Ebony, Alpine White and TV Yellow are the color options for this model and they all come with high gloss finish. Bridge section is equipped with only a stoptail bar, there`s no tune-o-matic in the front. Pair of P-90 fat single coil pickups is installed on this model. Mahogany neck is attached to the body with a mortise & tenon joint. On it`s top is a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
