I bought my Dean Vendetta 4F from an individual several months ago. It looked great and played great even with the factory setup. I was impressed by the neck profile and the finish quality of the frets, while the neck through design gives great sustain and sonic detail. The overall quality was very good for an import and the only real complaint that I had was the factory pickups. They were OK, but nothing special. I changed the tone cap to a .018uf Vitamin-Q which helped, but the tone still was not quite what I wanted. I finally swapped them for a set of Duncans and now she sings. I have further refined the setup and adjusted the Floyd Rose to my preferences. Now, I have to say that this is one of the best playing guitars that I have ever held! Considering that I have been playing for almost 50 years, that is a lot of guitars! Sadly, Dean no longer makes this model, so if you want one you are going to have to search a bit. However, if you do find one in good condition, I can highly recommend it no mater what your skill level!
