Korina is one of the best tone woods ever featured on electric guitars and it was the main body wood for early Gibsons. Mahogany quickly replaced it due to affordability and almost no tone quality loss. However, korina is still revered among guitar enthusiasts. It occasionally appears on special models, such as this USA Dave Mustaine VMNT Korina. This Flying V has a solid body made entirely of this prized wood. Only natural color of the wood with high gloss finish is assigned to the color palette. Regular Dean Dave Mustaine series bridge section on this model includes a tune-o-matic bridge with V-plate in the back. Duncan Live Wire humbuckers are installed in the front. Neck on this model is set in and made of korina. Standard 24-fret fingerboard is made of ebony.
