X is the basic tier of the Dean catalog made for the beginners and players who want a super affordable practice guitar. Among the many of the X level models, Thoroughbred X is one of the most popular. Partly due to its iconic LP shape, and partly due to the exceptional job Dean has done on this model. First off, the basic Thoroughbred comes with a carved and bound top (entire body is made of basswood). Furthermore, there are two humbucking pickups (passive DMT) as well as a two-piece bridge (most usually, entry level LP guitars come with flat bodies, one pickup and a wrap-around bridge). Neck is made of maple and its fit with a standard C profile (C-shaped maple necks are the most frequent type of necks for the solid electric guitars). 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and die-cast tuners wrap the excellent specs list.
