Chicago segment is a newly introduced line in Dean Guitars catalog. It was unveiled at NAMM show this January. This one is very special for Dean and their history as a guitar brand. Back in 1977 Dean Guitars started off with three models, V, ML and Z. They were introduced at 1977 NAMM show and were produced in Chicago. As time passed by, production moved away from Chicago, but models made there attained a very special status in hearts of Dean enthusiasts. Today, Deans from Chicago era are among the most popular items for collectors. In order to pay homage to their roots, Dean Guitars have introduced Chicago line. ML Chicago Standard Lefty belongs to the most affordable of three series which goes by the name of Chicago Standard. Solid and flat ML body is made of mahogany and it does not feature top wood cover, nor it has binding. Trans Cherry color scheme is finished in satin. Bridge section features a tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction. DiMarzio pickups are installed in H/H configuration. Both the bridge and neck position feature Super Distortion humbuckers. V-shaped mahogany neck is set in and topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
