Gran Sport from Dean Guitars is both a new series and a new type of guitar. Current Gran Sport series has two models, Gran Sport and Gran Sport Floyd. Their aim is set at metal players who like their guitars with modern and strong tone and vintage looks. Gran Sport body contour is based on a legendary concept of Gibson SG. It is flat with beveled edges, features minimal decorations and has thin body made of mahogany. Entire body is made of it, as well as the neck. Body of this model is contoured in the back for improved comfort of play. Classic choice of Dean`s color schemes marks this series. Classic Black, Trans Brazilia and Trans Cherry color schemes are available in gloss finish. Mahogany neck is slim joined at the 19th fret and topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Modified trapezoid inlays and standard 1-11/16" wide nut complete the fingerboard. Headstock is equipped with a set of six Grover tuners laid out in three-a-side pattern. Pickups on this one are USA DMT humbuckers with standard set of controls. Bridge section is a classic one, featuring a tune-o-matic bridge in the front and stoptail bar in the back.
