deluxe EXL-1 is a classic jazz box, the true hollow-bodied archtop. Everything on this beauty is there for the sake of the ultimate jazz tone and greater playability. Like all the other Deluxe models, EXL-1 sports Matte Midnight outfit, lined with multi-layered binding and pimped out with gold-plated hardware. The body of EXL-1 17" wide and is substantially deep. Its back and sides are made of plain maple (laminated, of course), while the top is made of flamed maple (also laminated). The neck is made of maple/walnut/maple three-piece sandwich, with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top (medium jumbo frets, block inlays, 1-11/16" TUSQ nut). Other important features include a wooden bridge (with Stairstep tailpiece), lone Seymour Duncan minibucker (neck position) and Grover Stairstep tuners.
