Z42 is one of the basic models in the Z series made by Cort Guitars. This series is dedicated to the beginners and inexperienced players who prefer the single-cut Les Paul shape over other popular shapes. Construction-wise, the models from this series have carved tops and bolted neck joints (upscale models have set in necks). Gibson legacy is visible in some of the following appointments: 24-3/4" scale, 12" fingerboard radius, Les Paul-like control knobs and 3+3 tuners arrangement on the headstock. Z42 comes with a solid, single-cut body made of agathis. Strings on this model run through the body, for the tune-o-matic bridge is alone in the bridge section. Two humbucking pickups are installed in the front. maple neck is bolted to the body and it is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
