Virgo Celtic Tremolo by B.C. Rich
Onyx

Celtic Virgo comes in two different variants in Virgo series lineup. One of them is equipped with the hardtail bridge, while this one has the Floyd Rose bridge for all the fans of dive-bombing and other tremolo effects. Other than that, these two Celtic Virgos are the same. Flat, double-cut body, 25-1/2" scale, bolt-on neck joint and 24-fret fingerboard are some of the main traits of this six-string beast. Body is flat on top and it`s made of mahogany. Floyd Rose bridge is fronted by BSDM pickups with characteristic B.C. Rich growl. This Virgo has a standard controls unit made up of master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Comfortable maple neck is topped with a spacious 24-fret fingerboard.

Sturdy guitar, very nice feel in the hand. A bit heavy, it takes some time to get used to it. The nose is a bit heavy (also due to the point where the strap is attached to the body), so a regular nylon strap should be avoided (as it slides on your shoulder, allowing the nose to dive.) Great for skinny people playing while seated: the player's right thigh can fit the guitar's body back cutaway, while the guitar is seated on the other thigh, thus not needing any other support. (But yes, you need to be skinny for this!) High and clear output, with a bit of metallic resonance Low action on strings, requiring a bit of attention on heavy strokes (to avoid fret-buzz; tried it with the standard 9-42 Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings) The finish could have been better (especially on the alignment of the floating bridge with the recessed area needed to host it) Error in the guitar's technical description (but not in the overall description): as the official BC RIch catalog also states, this guitar (as well as it's fixed bridge version) has passive humbuckers (BDSM humbuckers, high-output, yet still passive, with covers to match the overall design) Tested with: Behringer V-Tone GMX-210 // Zoom G1on
