XV-05 is one of two V-shaped axes in the Class Axe series` lineup. It belongs to the intermediate "05" tier, which means a set neck, 25-1/2" scale, EMG electronics and custom 12th fret inlay. Standard set of two color options (Black and White) is available. XV-05 is a V-shaped axe with basswood body/maple neck chassis. The body is bound in white or black, depending on the color scheme. The neck, on the other side, rocks a heel-less joint and a modern, fast contour. 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with a custom 12th fret inlay sits on its top. EMG 81 and 85 pickups (active humbuckers) installed in bridge and neck positions deliver the classic "extra metal growl" tone. String-through TOM bridge and Die-cast tuners complete the specs list.
