Schecter Special Edition Ultra III Review

Special Edition Ultra III is a part of The Special Edition line of new models for 2012. Schecter reinforced several already existing series with special edition models which bring some previously unseen features to each series. Ultra Series has two Special Edition Models for 2012 and Ultra III is one of them. It comes with already familiar Ultra shape and body made of mahogany with a raised center. the top is flat and features no binding, but there is a two-piece pickguard which covers around the half of the top surface. Color option for this model is metallic black with gloss finish. The bridge is a roller tune-o-matic with a Bigsby B-50 Vibrato. The bridge is plated in gold. Pickup combo is made up of three Duncan Designed FG-101 humbuckers placed one each in the bridge, middle and neck positions. They are controlled with a master volume, master tone and three separate on/off slide pickup switches. The neck is made of three pieces of mahogany with a set-in joint. There is no ultra access on this model. The fingerboard is made of rosewood which is bound in creme. 22 extra jumbo frets and pearl block inlays are featured on the fingerboard. 25-1/2" scale and Grover tuners complete the spec for Special Edition Ultra III.
