Schecter Special Edition Hellraiser VI Review

Along With Special Edition Ultra, this is the only standard model with a 30" scale in this Special Edition series. These long scale models have a whole octave lower tuning as it`s factory default, being closer to electric basses than guitars. Other than that, appointments on this model are within the Hellraiser specs. Special Edition Hellraiser VI starts off as a solid, double cutaway model with a body made of mahogany back and quilted maple top. As on all Hellraisers, the top is carved and bound as well. Color option available for this model is black cherry with glossy finish. For the bridge, tune-o-matic with a stoptail bar is chosen. This bridge is plated in black chrome, as it is tradition with Schecter models from metal oriented series. In the pickup compartment, there is a trusty old combo of EMG`s 81 and 89 active humbuckers. these pickups are controlled through standard Hellraiser control setup of master tone, two volume knobs with push-pull switches and a three-position blade switch. The neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and is equipped with slim and fast shape, set-in joint and ultra access cutaway. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and sports 24 extra jumbo frets with abalone gothic cross inlays. Schecter`s locking tuning machines wrap the spec.
