Schecter Omen-7 2012 Review

For 2012 Schecter Guitars prepared a new and refreshed Omen lineup with dual humbuckers, 24 extra jumbo frets and cool color options. It is a line dedicated to the musicians who seek solid quality for a reasonable price. This particular model is a down-tuned extended range model with seven strings and a solid body made of basswood. The top on this model is carved and adorned with black or ivoroid binding, depending on the color option. Omen-7 2012 is available in black gloss, vintage white gloss and walnut satin options. The bridge is a seven-saddle tune-o-matic with a string-through body construction.This bridge, as the rest of the hardware does, features black chrome plating. The pickups department is made up of two Schecter-made Diamond Plus passive humbuckers. The controls are made up of master tone, master volume, three-way toggle, a simple and very effective combination. The neck is a Omen Series standard maple made with fast contour and bolt-on joint. There is no ultra access contoured heel featured. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and equipped with 24 extra jumbo-sized frets with pearloid semi-gothic position inlays. Tuners are Schecter and scale is almost baritone, it measures 26-1/2" in length. The MSRP for Omen-7 2012 is set at $499.
