Omen Series is basically a passive pickup line of models, but later more and more active pickup models are being introduced. One of the latest updates on this subject is Omen Active FR. It is essentially an Omen 6, but with a Floyd Rose and set of active pickups. Omen Active FR is a solid bodied model with a standard double cutaway shape and basswood body. Carved top is an entire series feature, and thus present on this model, too. Omen Active FR is available in black gloss and satin black options with ivory and aged ivory bindings, respectively. The bridge on this one is a Floyd Rose Special with a locking string nut on the opposite side of the scale. It is plated in black chrome. Pickups on Omen Active FR make the second big difference when compared to the basic model, they are a pair of Duncan Designed active humbuckers. The controls are made up of master tone, master volume and a three-way toggle switch. The neck is made of maple and has a fast contour with a bolt-on joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and equipped with 24 extra jumbo frets and semi-gothic pearloid inlays. The MSRP for Omen Active FR is set at $649.
