Schecter Omen Active 7 Review

Schecter`s Omen series has received many new models recently and Omen Active 7 is one of them. These models with "Active" label are some of the most affordable guitars on market with active humbucking pickups. Omen Active 7 is a seven-stringed, active electronics version of basic Omen model. This extended-range axe starts off with a solid, double cutaway made of basswood. The top of this model is carved and features either ivory or aged ivory binding. It depends whether the player opts for black gloss, or satin black color. The bridge is Schecter`s standard fixed option for double cutaway models, a tune-o-matic with string-through-body construction. Controls layout is simple and made up of master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle switch. The neck on this seven-stringer is made of maple with comfortable contour and a bolt-on joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and is equipped with 24 extra-jumbo sized frets and a set of pearloid semi-gothic position inlays. Other features on this model include black chrome hardware and Schecter tuning machines. Scale length measures 26-1/2 inches, which is a standard for Schecter`s double cutaway models with seven strings.
