Schecter Blackjack SLS V-1 FR Review

Brand new Blackjack SLS series hits the stage right at the beginning of 2012 with a big bang and brings all of Schecter`s popular shapes and models in a new, mean and ferocious outfit. The SLS line stands for ultra thin necks, Seymour Duncan pickups and 24 extra jumbo frets. Blackjack SLS V-1 FR is a V shaped beast spawned from the depths of hell and equipped with mahogany back and flamed maple top. This one is available only in satin black color with multi-layered black binding around the top. The bridge is a Floyd Rose from 1000 series with a locking nut. It is plated in black chrome. The pickup combo choice between Seymour Duncan active Blackouts and Seymour Duncan passive Full Shred pickup with Jazz Passive humbucker stands for this model as well. The control options are same as on the other models of the series with push-pull option being available only with passive pickups. One tone, two volume knobs and three-way toggle switch make up the controls. The neck is made of three pieces of maple and features ultra thin contour, satin finish, set-in joint and ultra access cutaway with contoured heel. Ebony fingerboard ha 24 extra jumbo sized frets and skull & crossbones inlay at the 12th fret. Other features include black chrome hardware, 25-1/2" scale and Schecter locking tuners. The MSRP for Blackjack SLS V-1 FR is set at $1,299.
