Following review text is verbal representation of numerical rating information:
Peavey made a JF-1 Hollowbody, a guitar that both performs and sounds well. It's a nice instrument that deserves your attention and you should definitely test it to see if it's right instrument for you. Lots of musicians feel that this instrument is valued fairly and it suits their needs, so you should definitely investigate JF-1 Hollowbody.
Peavey went really far in carefully choosing JF-1 Hollowbody's features. There's little to be wished for, which makes JF-1 Hollowbody a full-featured guitar for a musician that plays a music style this instrument is primarily built for. If you decide to go for Peavey's JF-1 Hollowbody you will be happy with its, safe to say - rich features. A job well-done by JF-1 Hollowbody.
Tone delivered by Peavey's JF-1 Hollowbody makes it a serious sounding instrument that gives Peavey a lot of reasons to be proud of it. Somewhat limited when playing certain music styles doesn't mean that JF-1 Hollowbody will make your tone to sound poor, quite the opposite, because JF-1 Hollowbody provides rich and versatile tone that you'll be happy with.
Peavey did a good job. JF-1 Hollowbody is built well, the finish feels just right, the hardware is solid. While playing for a longer periods of time you can expect JF-1 Hollowbody to stay in tune and you will be pleased while playing, because the neck is extremely comfortable. You might find that over time metal parts will oxidize a bit, but that's normal and nothing to worry about. Peavey did a really good job with JF-1 Hollowbody guitar.
Playing live, JF-1 Hollowbody will perform well and will not let you down. It is fairly reliable instrument both in studio and on stage, and will be a long term companion, as it is built to last. Peavey has made a solid instrument that you will be happy with, and can depend on right from the start. Needs no backup as it has proven to be built really well.

This guitar is a really great deal; however mine was not playable upon reciept. The 11th fret was very high and had to be fixed before I could really play it. It only cost me $25 dollars. I did the set-up myself so that didn't cost anything, but set-ups are around $75 and it will need to be done. I also put seymour duncan pups in it immediately (hot rodded humbucker set), the stock pick-ups aren't to bad, but they are not quite as vesatile as I wanted.
I only give this guitar a 5 because of it's playability out of the box. I understand that it was made in China and the cost was low so they have to make cut's somewhere, but I still wish it could at least sound half way descent out of the box. After I changed the pups and got the fret fixed this guitar is amazing. It plays and sounds as good as my other american made guitars. I have not used the guitar at a gig yet , but I will and I will trust it to sound incredible.
I give this guitar a 10 here because the guitar cost $300 and for an additional $150 more you have a remarkable instrument. You can not find another guitar for $450 that will sound and play this good. It may not be a 335 but I don't have $2000 dollars to spend and you don't either if your reading this. If this guitar was stolen i would go straight out and get another one and another set of the hot rodded pick-ups set. I absolutely love this guitar now and feel guilty because my American strat is being neglected.
I love this guitar. you better get one now b/c if peavey starts stocking them with seymour duncans and actually inspect the guitars when finished you are going to be spending a hell of alot more than what I did. Peavey catches alot of heat for not making quality merchandise but to me that is ridiculous. I own a few of their amps and this guitar just makes my peavey advocacy even stronger.
I bought this guitar used on eBay for less than $200. I was looking for a project guitar in the ES-335 style. When the guitar arrived and I played it, I was amazed. It turns out that I am not going to change a thing about this guitar. Mine plays and sounds a good as the Gibsons I've owned (I've owned two 335s). The only adjustment I had to make was to add new strings and intonate it.
I build and repair guitars for a living and I can tell you that, mine at least, is a steal for what I paid. Anyone looking for an ES-335 but doesn't want to spend megabucks, seriously consider this guitar.
