Custom 22 Artist is a good guitar. Slight disproportions in price vs. quality/features should never stop you from trying this guitar. Paul Reed Smith did put a lot of effort into this instrument and it deserves to be tested. If you find that it suits your playing style, go for it - you won't be sorry.

Paul Reed Smith didn't go over the top with a set of features that make the Custom 22 Artist what it is: a guitar that will do the job, but won't thrill you with its limited features. However, it won't let you down if you feel you can get along with what's provided. You can try and search for better solutions, but still, Paul Reed Smith's Custom 22 Artist will deliver what you need in most situations.

Paul Reed Smith made a guitar with an astonishing sound. Custom 22 Artist is one great sounding instrument. A lot of musicians will agree that it plays well in many different musical genres, and is easy to set up, but most of all, fun to play. Its tone has unique tonal characteristics that are easily adjustable to fit your playing needs.

A bit more care and time would make this instrument a class better, but Paul Reed Smith's Custom 22 Artist doesn't look bad, nor does play badly. It stays in tune reasonably well, and can provide a not-too-demanding musician some good experience. Was it the price, or some other factor, but it feels that the hardware could have been done better; nevertheless, Custom 22 Artist is after all a good guitar which is not too hard to handle and set up.

This guitar will hold on really well as it is built well. Not to be battered as it is not the ultimate gigging tool; still, Custom 22 Artist will perform OK in most live situations. You might feel that it will let you down in you hour of need, but in reality this guitar will do just well. Should you feel unconfident, have a backup guitar ready and you'll have no worries with Paul Reed Smith's Custom 22 Artist.
