Following review text is verbal representation of numerical rating information:
JT-Res is a good guitar. Slight disproportions in price vs. quality/features should never stop you from trying this guitar. Jay Turser did put a lot of effort into this instrument and it deserves to be tested. If you find that it suits your playing style, go for it - you won't be sorry.
Carefully chosen set of features makes Jay Turser's JT-Res a really good guitar. Some might say that it lacks some of the features, but JT-Res's features still fulfill an average musician's needs. You won't be wrong to go for this axe 'cause it has a wide array of different sounds and a lot of possibilities for tweaking the sound to make it yours. Getting one of Jay Turser's JT-Res is a way to go.
Tone delivered by Jay Turser's JT-Res makes it a serious sounding instrument that gives Jay Turser a lot of reasons to be proud of it. Somewhat limited when playing certain music styles doesn't mean that JT-Res will make your tone to sound poor, quite the opposite, because JT-Res provides rich and versatile tone that you'll be happy with.
A bit more care and time would make this instrument a class better, but Jay Turser's JT-Res doesn't look bad, nor does play badly. It stays in tune reasonably well, and can provide a not-too-demanding musician some good experience. Was it the price, or some other factor, but it feels that the hardware could have been done better; nevertheless, JT-Res is after all a good guitar which is not too hard to handle and set up.
This guitar will hold on really well as it is built well. Not to be battered as it is not the ultimate gigging tool; still, JT-Res will perform OK in most live situations. You might feel that it will let you down in you hour of need, but in reality this guitar will do just well. Should you feel unconfident, have a backup guitar ready and you'll have no worries with Jay Turser's JT-Res.

I purchased one of these a few years ago because I always wanted an amplified resonator for the stage. At the time I was hoping for that classic "Dobro" sound. When I first got it, I was kind of disappointed because the resonator cone is really not very responsive and the it just didn't sound good through my amp, kind of thin with lots of shrill feedback. I was never inspired to play it much, but kept it around because it looked so cool. Then one night I was fooling around and plugged it into a Fender Acoustisonic Jr. with the piezo dialed in and some hall reverb and the thing came alive! I discovered a very sweet acoustic lead sound unlike anything I was ever able to get before. It sounded so good I couldn't put it down. Because it is designed like an electric, the playability is great for blues and jazz leads, and the tone is true and mellow. I have a collection of expensive instruments including several Les Pauls, Stratocasters, and various other guitars. After finding this guitar's sweet spot, I would never part with it. Every instrument has a specific niche, and this one has a very exotic acoustic tone if played through the right amp. I would never use it for electric work much because I don't much care for the tone of the humbucker, which feeds back like crazy through an overdriven Marshall, Boogie, or Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. But with the Piezo through the Fender Acoustisonic Jr., this is guitar Heaven. I have been playing over 40 years and the tone blows me away. I would definitely buy another one.
