SLS-3 Soloist '08 is a good guitar. Slight disproportions in price vs. quality/features should never stop you from trying this guitar. Jackson did put a lot of effort into this instrument and it deserves to be tested. If you find that it suits your playing style, go for it - you won't be sorry.

Jackson didn't go over the top with a set of features that make the SLS-3 Soloist '08 what it is: a guitar that will do the job, but won't thrill you with its limited features. However, it won't let you down if you feel you can get along with what's provided. You can try and search for better solutions, but still, Jackson's SLS-3 Soloist '08 will deliver what you need in most situations.

SLS-3 Soloist '08 guitar has a huge sound that sits shoulder to shoulder with sound produced by the guitars of the highest rank. It's easily controllable and even easier to shape to your own personal music style and style of playing. It's an easy task to adjust the hardware to make this guitar truly fit your playing needs. Jackson has produced a guitar that is capable of achieving that huge and expensive sound which you can hear on records, played by world's top musicians.

A bit more care and time would make this instrument a class better, but Jackson's SLS-3 Soloist '08 doesn't look bad, nor does play badly. It stays in tune reasonably well, and can provide a not-too-demanding musician some good experience. Was it the price, or some other factor, but it feels that the hardware could have been done better; nevertheless, SLS-3 Soloist '08 is after all a good guitar which is not too hard to handle and set up.

This guitar will hold on really well as it is built well. Not to be battered as it is not the ultimate gigging tool; still, SLS-3 Soloist '08 will perform OK in most live situations. You might feel that it will let you down in you hour of need, but in reality this guitar will do just well. Should you feel unconfident, have a backup guitar ready and you'll have no worries with Jackson's SLS-3 Soloist '08.
